so, although i could've just posted this as a photo set on the Google+, for the sake of keeping this blog together with posts, i am doing it here. same info, different format. seldom use is no reason to let this blog die...
so, i made shrimp dumplings! and they were delicious. amazingly fresh tasting once completed. :D
start with 2 wonton or dumpling wrappers. |
add your peeled shrimp in the middle of one |
add cilantro on top of that. wet the edges of the circle (it'll act as glue to hold the two sides together) |
put the other wrapper on top, forming a ravioli looking thing. try to squeeze out as much air as you can and make sure the edges are sealed. |
i folded the edges around onto themselves to try and make sure the seal was there. the crimping was done with a fork for even more closure insurance (some still opened, but oh well). |
add them, one at a time, to boiling water. pull from the water once you can see the pink of the shrimp through the wrapper. then add to a pan with bubbling butter and a touch of olive oil and lightly crisp the sides in a hot pan. serve immediately, and enjoy. |

ReplyDeleteSo those dumplings look delicious. I bought some frozen shumai the other day but they were pretty awful. Le disappointment.
Also, I received Batwoman: Elegy. It is very good, but I wouldn't say it's "THE BEST THING I'VE EVER READ," like that guy at the store did. I'll let you decide.
(It's super effective.)
