There are few things more enjoyable to me than spontaneous cooking. In the last 20 minutes:
Take 1/4 of a head of cabbage
1/4 cup sesame oil
1/12 cup rice wine vinegar ( just keep filling your measuring cup until total volume is 1/3)
Lots of black pepper & salt to taste
Red pepper flakes
Powdered ginger. As much as you want. Mine is not very strong so I needed a lot
Tiny bit of cumin
Whisk to combine
Pour most of the mixture over cabbage & add black sesame seeds for color. Do not drown in liquid; if it wants less than the dressing you made, then use less. Dress like you would a salad.
If you have a tablespoon or so of raw rice lying around, add it to the combination at the end; it provides a unique crunch & will absorb any liquid that occurs over time, so this will actually get better the longer it sits. A little unorthodox, but I like it. Happy eatings
