My Cars

So, this is going to be dedicated to my long running ability to have a steady flow of new (to me) cars, throughout my young life. these are my thoughts on all of them, and a few pictures, not all taken by me.

*first car: my first car must begin with an asterisk, because it was only around for a week. it was a white, '93 civic, that mik got for $800. it didn't start in the rain, thus we got rid of it rather quickly. to be immediately replaced with...

it was not this car. this is a stock photo i found on the interweb. this car was from before the time that i recorded everything in photos & put it on the internet... it was a simpler time...

10/2005 - 3/2006. my real first car. black '97 Nissan Maxima. really really nice car. had a V6 engine (whatever that means) but it went (too) fast - check out my use of foreshadowing there :). now, i am doing my best to remember, but i think i got this car sometime around by birthday 2005 when i turned 16 and got my license. that sounds about right, but i don't recall having a car my sophmore year of high school, so that could be wrong? i'm not sure... wait! i got it. it was my car, but ali (sister) had it when she was at college for her last semester. that's it! that is why i don't remember having it around that time. but i got it back the following semester in january. then i went and totaled it. it would have cost more than 50% of the car's value to repair it, therefore, totaled. my mom's probably still pissed about that one, and rightfully so...

on to car #2, that mik was able to miraculously find in about a week after i wrecked the maxima. it should be noted that all of my cars would not have been possible without him so many thanks for everything he did.

another stock photo. what ya gonna do? also, mine did not have those little light wiper things. i always wanted them, though
3/2006 - 6/2008. silver '98 Volvo S70. This car was affectionately known as a Tank. volvo's were, and are known for being rather resilient to crashes, and this was no exception. it was made of steel, and incredibly heavy and boxy for a car, but i loved it. was a steal of a price, so we kept on expecting something bad to happen with it, but it never did. really a great car. got in an accident with it too, except i totaled the other car involved, and all i lost was my right front headlight. it was the other driver's fault, but that didn't stop me from getting a ticket... fucking ridiculous. all in all, probably my most reliable car i've ever had.

6/2008 - 7/2010. green Honda CRV.

i realize now, that pictures of just my car are not taken by me. more google image searching! picked this one from the search results because of the pretty plants in the background. :)
now this car has easily been my favorite to drive. it handled very nicely, could get some speed going, and didn't weigh a thing (especially compared to the volvo i just came from). it was a very good car, especially for its purpose. we got rid of the volvo and got this in order to transport stuff to wilmington, and it did a marvelous job of that.

aana's best scowl & headdress. this was when she was a foreigner.

silly face. but both pictures from inside the CRV!
unfortunately, CRV's have a habit of having their transmission die. my mom had a CRV, and it did that, so when the early signs of it dying started to get bad, we decided to sell the wonderful CRV just incase. turned out to be a bad choice, since the next car seemed to be full of problems...

8/2010 - 9/2011. white '98 Subaru Legacy Outback.

it even says stock image! also, this makes it feel all rugged and outdoorsy.
this car had its ups and downs. it was a reasonably reliable thing that got me from A to B, but it had some mechanical problems. transmission pan leaked, so had to fix that, battery connector was broken, had to fix that, air conditioning broken, had to fix that. all in the short year that i had it. but it got the job done, i suppose. probably has been my least favorite car. so we decided to sell it, and it is in the process of that at the moment. for now, i have this new car...

9/2011 - ?. 2001 beige Nissan Sentra.

it is like this, but with a much much shittier pain job.
This was my sister's car for the past year or two (i'm not really sure) and it has treated her very well. since she is moving to australia, it was a very easy maneuver to put me in this car & then try to sell the subaru (since the subaru should be worth more). this car is the smallest little thing i've ever driven! it is so tiny! only has a little 2 cylinder engine (because that totally means something to me) so it doesn't have a lot of pick up, but it gets great millage! so we're hoping that this one stays with me for a while, and is a reliable little thing.

  1. I'm NOT still pissed at you--just the little bitch you ran into. She shouldn't have been driving that day! That Maxima was a good car though.

  2. I can't believe you've had so many cars... That CRV will always hold the fondest memories for me though. I shall always remember the Batman sticker.
