so i had a pretty awesome day at the WRC. it was by far the best day i've had at this place, because there can be some pretty shitty days there that consist of nothing except bird nursery, which is horrendous. but today i got to do much more fun stuff. i helped with anesthesia, x-ray & injectable treatment into it's legs on a red should hawk. it turned out he had a pelvic fracture, which is not good at all; the hawk would be unable to live a normal and pain-free life, so we had to euthanize it. although that is rather sad for the bird, it was totally awesome for me because i got to help! due to a few complications, we ended up having to put the hawk down  IntraCardiac with a needle that was like 3 inches long. it was really really interesting and cool to see.

i also got to learn how to properly hold smaller birds, and assisted with the injectable medication for a mockingbird, which was pretty neat. but the big draw for the day was the hawk; if you so choose, i was able to sneak a very very quick picture just after the RS hawk died, and it'll be posted bellow this, but with plenty of space, incase you don't want to see it. nothing graphic, i just know some people may not want to look at a picture of a dead hawk. well, that's it for now, i'll update again eventually
